The watercolor is one of the most difficult forms of visual art. The quirky nature of the medium, that the painter tries to tame, but still shows a degree of freedom, is a challenge for many artists.

Hij laat zijn aquarellen ademen, wisselt transparante “nat in nat” gedeelten af met expressieve tonen en details. Edo Hannema weet de ruimtelijkheid hierbij echter te behouden door het onderwerp niet dicht te schilderen, een teken van jarenlange ervaring.
