The watercolor is one of the most difficult forms of visual art. The quirky nature of the medium, that the painter tries to tame, but still shows a degree of freedom, is a challenge for many artists.
In experienced hands like those of Edo Hannema it can lead to amazing results.
With his passion for the landscape, with water and the Dutch skies. They play a dominant role in his paintings, he knows to catch the sparkling light and intimate atmosphere. He let his watercolors breath, and changes transparent “wet” areas with expressive tones and details. However, He suggest more then he really paints, Edo Hannema know where to stop, this a sign of years of experience.
His work has a realistic basis, with their own interpretation and a personal touch.

The tinge of pink in the sky threw me off a bit. It’s a lovely piece. You’re welcome!
